Arya Vaidya Sala Kottakkal (AVS) has been to cancer care by providing Ayurveda treatment for the past 25 years with the intention of improving the quality of life of cancer patients. The efforts have yielded positive results, especially in certain areas like cancers of lung, stomach and prostate etc. Various Ayurveda medicaments including classical formulations and single drugs were found to be effective for managing the symptoms of various cancer conditions. The scientific studies carried out in the Institute on Cancer research have been evidenced by the articles published in various international journals. The Centre of Excellence under AYURSWASTHYA YOJANA has been framed by Ministry of AYUSH with the objectives of delivering the skills to young Ayush professionals based on scientific knowledge in Ayush research. Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India has recognized AVS as a Centre of Excellence in Cancer Research in 2022.
